Kirkby Lonsdale to Sedbergh
Route Summary:
Kirkby Lonsdale is a small, attractive stone-built town with plenty of pubs and cafes and a good network of quiet lanes radiating out to the north and west. A steep climb through High Casterton brings you up to the old Roman Road with wonderful views west across the Lune valley and north towards the Howgill Fells. The ride’s main climb up through Barbondale is rewarded with panoramic views over Dentdale. Sedbergh is famous for its prestigious public school and is gaining a reputation as a centre for second-hand bookshops.
