Descent from heaven - Crug Mawr from Crickhowell

Route Summary:

The ride starts in Crickhowell, one of several fine bases along the Usk Valley. The first testing ascent climbs up from the Red Dragon Inn in Llangenny. This is nothing compared to the next challenge up past Partrishow Church, surely one of the steepest sections of road in the region. A delightful open track contours around the hillside and climbs up alongside then through forestry to emerge on top of Crug Mawr. This marks the start of the dream descent - the track has to be ridden to be believed. The views are stupendous so it is well worthwhile leaving the ride for a clear day.
